For the sake of vanity
Sentenced me to life
Without your smile
For the salvation of your hair.

I wear colored ribbons in futility
No satin color for your killer
So I wear them all - supporting
Causes in accordance to style.
Wishing changes nothing
As I’m forever without you.

Memories flood me
At inconvenient moments
Sparked by teaberry gum
and huckleberry bonbons
Nothing tastes the same.

I am not what I once was
Everything is off kilter
Me most of all.
