THE SKY WEPT

HOLIDAY 2008 #16

*******

as was only proper...
Today was taken, in a way irrefutable,
so final, so striking to the heart,
a person who had shaped and been shaped by
the lives of those around him.

A memory remains, and so
the hole caused by his departure will
never be completely filled in. There
is no replacement possible or desired.

And oh, that hole hurts...
But that pain too is precious to me,
for without it,
I would not have known I was
so blessed.
