I
dusted off my planner taking out
the numbers which I’d never call again.
The first weeks of sobriety’s about
the change of old routines, how I lived then.
I noticed that it had been quite awhile
since I had written anything to do.
In all those “to trash” papers in a pile
I found your number and your address, too.
I thought of calling just to say hello
or maybe write a letter with the same.
The thought then passed, I know how that would go
I drew a skull of crossbones by your name.
There is no calling just for laughs and kicks -
avoid the ones good only for a fix.
