Wild
Boys: Dawn Of The Wild mini-series to be launched in March
2007 by Masterpiece Comics Mini-series introduces the Wild
Boys. |
DIAMOND
ORDER CODE: JAN073752 |
|
They
are the Last hope for humanity. They don't give a DAMN.
GLENDALE,
AZ - In March 2007 Masterpiece Comics will launch its first
mini-series, Wild Boys: Dawn Of The Wild . Wild Boys is a
full color, 32 page, four issue mini-series that will be published
on a monthly basis through June 2007. It is available for
pre-order through Previews in January 2007.
“While
Wild Boys is focused on seven 'super-powered' individuals,
they aren't super-heroes, aren't clean cut and don't wear
costumes,” says creator and writer Ace Masters. “And
they don't care about helping anyone. They were created by
humans, then betrayed. They want nothing to do with humanity
or its fight against the alien Jovarn who have conquered the
world.”
|
| |
|
”The
mini-series is an amazing story in itself,” says Wild
Boys editor Tom Wallace. “But it really lays the groundwork
for even wilder things. I can't say much more than that now.”
Wild
Boys: Dawn Of The Wild
Writer - Ace Masters
Illustrator - Irapuan
First,
genetic engineers created them to fight wars, then politicians
tried to destroy them out of fear. On the eve of an alien
invasion no one saw coming, the Wild Boys weren't there. For
twenty years since then, they've lived on the move and on
their own, doing whatever they must to stay one step ahead
of the conquering Jovarn, and the humans who once betrayed
them. Among the humans, a small band of rebels know that the
Wild Boys are their last hope for survival. The Wild Boys
know it too.
Their
response: Humans be Damned.

Word Online Magazine Website Launches! |
|
|
On
September 1, 2006 The Written Word online magazine returned
with it own stand-alone website: www.writtenwordmag.com.
After a year long hiatus, The Written Word online magazine
is back, live and better then ever!
The original Written Word magazine was part of the original
Rebel Dawn Creative Forces site, launched in January 2004.
Originally just a section of the Rebel Dawn site called Short
Stories, it featured one new short story a month by different
writers. In late 2004 Short Stories was repackaged and debuted
in January 2005 as The Written Word a full fledge online magazine,
yet still part of the Rebel Dawn site.
As The Written Word the online magazine continued publishing
until July 2005. At that point, due to the issues and problems
plaguing all of Rebel Dawn (especially Masterpiece Comics),
The Written Word went on what was suppose to be a temporary
hiatus. Little did we figure that "temporary hiatus"
would be 14 months.
The Written Word is now back, with a brand new design and
logo by webmaster Michelle Fiorucci, and is now its own stand
alone website!
The first edition of the relaunch features a republication
of the original Catling Story, CATSPAW CANYON by Sherry Allyn
Norman (also writer of the series in development with Masterpiece
Comics), with art by Jennifer Rude, as the cover story.
Also featured is poetry by Barb Caffrey (editor for Masterpiece's
FIREBLAST comic book series), Robin Brooks and Morgen Kirby.
With fiction by Jennifer Lunde, Robert P. Herbst, Ted Rainey,
Paul Samways and Barry Rosenberg.

everything in between.
The Written Word will begin as a bimonthly online magazine,
and will move to monthly in the near future.

Artworx
|
| Things
are finally starting to go and Artworx is gearing up to go
from “in development” to “in production.”
Once the Written Word launches (September 1) the Artworx website
will go into production, if not sooner. Like the Masterpiece
and coming Written Word site, the Artworx site will be its
own stand-alone site with a unique design.
We are currently looking at a November launch of the website,
sooner if possible. The Artworx division will officially relaunch
when the website goes live.
Even
though the official launch is not planned till November we
are currently opening up Artworx to submissions immediately.
For
more information please go to the ABOUT
ARTWORX section of this website.

Rebel
Dawn Creative Forces launches new website
| Welcome
to the new and improved REBEL DAWN CREATIVE FORCES website.
This fourth version of the RDCF site is a great improvement
over the first two, lackluster, sites and the third,
which was never finished. |
| Officially
launched on April 1, 2006 in conjunction with the official
launch of the MASTERPIECE COMICS website, this site
is the next step in the development of RDCF and allows
us to move forward in a way we could not before. |
|
The
RDCF website will be the main source of information and
news from REBEL DAWN. Information is available here on projects,
acquisitions, licensing, submissions, promotional materials,
media kits, events, careers and advertising.
This site is also the main portal to RDCF's divisions and
all future websites related to it. Currently only MASTERPIECE
COMICS has its own website to which RDCF links. Websites
for ARTWORX, FULL FORCE PROMOTIONS and THE WRITTEN WORD
are currently being developed. Once they are launched, RDCF
will also link to them.
The goal of this website is simple: to present info on RDCF
and help promote awareness of us and our divisions.
Welcome to REBEL
DAWN CREATIVE FORCES.

APRIL
2006
|
Masterpiece
Comics launches
| As
of April 1st, 2006 www.masterpiececomics.com,
the official website of MASTERPIECE COMICS, launches. |
|
After a turbulent year in 2005, which did see the publication
of RUSHMORE: A GRAPHIC NOVEL, Masterpiece Comics took
a step back to deal with creative issues, including
problems with webmasters, which led to the unfinished
REBEL DAWN CREATIVE FORCES website. |
|
With
those problems behind us, MASTERPIECE COMICS is taking a
huge step forward, beginning with the launch of this website.
MASTERPIECE COMICS is dedicated to producing the best comic
book materials that we possibly can, including this website.
This website will highlight, preview and give info on all
titles that we will publish, beginning with FIREBLAST, RUSHMORE
and WILD BOYS. Many more titles are coming soon.
Each title will eventually have its own section on the website.
In each title’s section you will find all you need
to know about each series. Each title will have four section,
ABOUT, CHARACTERS, ISSUE AND GALLERY. ABOUT will give info
on the title as a whole, including a back story. CHARACTERS
will give bios on main, minor and reoccuring characters
in the title. ISSUE give info and previews each issue of
the series. GALLERY will be gallery of art from each title
which may include original character sketches, promo and
cover art, and unused interior pages.
Initially, when announced, each title will appear on the
site with only an ABOUT section. Other sections will be
developed and updated as things progress.
The goal of this website is simple: To give readers all
the info they need to decided if they want to come along
for the ride.
Welcome to MASTERPIECE
COMICS.

Fireblast
series gearing up
FIREBLAST:
ADVENTURES IN THE 30TH CENTURY,
the ongoing series, is gearing up for its start later in
2006. Originally an on-line story in 2004, FIREBLAST was
put on hold when Nichx (Fireblast, Rushmore), took over
the art chores for RUSHMORE: A GRAPHIC NOVEL, after the
original artist, Malacai, parted ways with MASTERPIECE COMICS.
The
ongoing series was announced in September 2005. Since
then production on the series has been in full swing.
Except for two months (December, January) taken off
to build the MASTERPIECE COMICS website, NICHX and
ACE MASTERS have been hard at work on the Fireblast
Series.
The
series is slated to launch in late 2006 September/October
with the publication of the ZERO ISSUE. The ZERO ISSUE
will reprint the original on-line intro story. |
|
Currently
the first five issues of Fireblast (Zero Issue through issue
four) are ready to go to print. Issue five is currently
half way finished and MASTERPIECE plans is planned to have
through issue seven completed before the Zero Issue is published.
Only the Zero Issue is previewed on-line at the moment.
Previews of the other issues will be on-line soon.
Creative Team: ACE MASTERS, creator/writer; NICHX, illustration,
colors, MICHELLE FIORUCCI, letters. BARB CAFFERY serves
as editor for the series.
For
more information on Fireblast, go to the Fireblast section
of the MASTERPIECE
